Marybeth Schubert
Engagement Manager
Marybeth Schubert, an engagement manager for the Commission, is president of Schubert Consulting LLC, which provides organizational, communications and public policy services to officials nationwide. Prior to forming the company, she served as southwest director of Public Works LLC, developing education and economic development solutions for clients in New Mexico, West Virginia, Delaware, Indiana, Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Colorado and elsewhere. Ms. Schubert has been director of The Ford Foundation’s Bridges to Opportunity project at the New Mexico Association of Community Colleges. She was Laura D’Andrea Tyson’s chief of staff and deputy dean at the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley following Dr. Tyson’s tenure as chief economic advisor to U.S. President Bill Clinton. As deputy dean, Ms. Schubert was responsible for overseeing the development of new programs, including joint ventures with Columbia University and Tsinghua University in Beijing China and the Master’s program in financial engineering, now rated number one in the country. Ms. Schubert is co-founder of the New Economy Forum, an annual retreat for CEOs from Silicon Valley’s high technology community. She has served as staff to the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare, a consultant for the Law and Economics Consulting Group, and as special assistant to the dean at London Business School. In 2002 New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson appointed Ms. Schubert to serve on his Transition Team for the Department of Labor. She is a member of the Executive Board of New Voice of Business New Mexico and the Climate Prosperity Project. |
